UX design for beginners: What is UX?

Picture
Worry less about definitions. They come along eventually. You must however understand the basic tenets of User Experience.

To a UX designer, everything begins with empathy, it is held up in the middle by collaborations and feedbacks, and ends with user satisfaction.

Hopefully, that wasn’t too much to take-in… was it?
User Experience is any interaction a user has with a service or product. It cuts across physical feeling, ease of buying a product or service, down to the satisfaction of holding a product.
UX is how a person feels when relating with any system. And that system could be in form of a website, desktop software or web application.

Now,
this is where empathy comes in. User Experience is all about solving problems. Making access to things easier. You need to understand the human emotion, its needs, before you can proffer an effective design solution.

UX design is
a new niche under technology. It requires specific skills because it is meant to solve specific problems. Here-in lies the dilemma of a prospective UX designer.

As a beginner who is considering
a career in UX design, your primary assignment is how to make products, services, and technology usable, readily accessible, and enjoyable for people.

This why collaboration and feedback are stressed under UX.

A UX designer works with a product team which bridges the gap between the end users, the development team and major stake holders.

If you are not good at communicating.
Consider this a soft reminder to build that skill.
You can always sign up for mindset reskilling bootcamps where your skills are developed, and your mindset renewed for your career.

Your first duty as a UX designer is to advocate for the end users or consumers of a produc
t, service, or technology.

Tools of UX design
To hit the ground running, you must know the basic and important tools required in the world of UX design. When you learn the tools of trade, you master the methods and processes in UX design. There is a dozen of tools out there but below is a list of most popular tools for the various design process in UX.
